Mini sessions are so fun but can be so hard!! They’re awesome because they’re a little cheaper for people, and we can serve more families in a single evening instead of the one longer evening session slot we usually offer. And they can be a little less stressful for parents because little kids (and adults too) only have to be engaged and happy smiling at the camera for 20 minutes instead of a whole hour!

So lots of reasons to love mini sessions! But minis can also be hard because you want to shove way too much into them! Mini sessions only realistically have time for one maaaaaybe two backgrounds/locations for the whole family and then quickly snap an individual shot of each family member. Those are the two main goals! Any other breakouts like mom and dad, siblings, etc. are icing on the cake!

The Paivas were rockstars at their mini session because we got it ALL in!! The family shots, the individuals, the parent shot, the sibling shot, everything! We even got a few fun dip photos of mom and dad! (You’ll have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see my favorite one!)

The Paivas are some of my many returning clients and we always have a blast! Anthony and Katharine are some of the cutest, sweetest kids ever and genuinely LOVE their family! They’re not “too cool” for family photos, family games, or hanging out with mom and dad (or each other). I love it! I hope our future kids love each other (and me and Kyle) as much as Anthony and Katharine love their family!

Alex and Kristi are that super dynamic power couple that just impress the heck out of me! As their family photographer but also as their friend, it’s incredible to watch them balance everything in life: two kids who are heavily involved in school and sports, Kristi’s full time job, and Alex’s full time medical schooling, and SO MUCH MORE! And still somehow find time to put God first in their family and everyday life. Alex and Kristi, Kyle and I want to be you when we grow up!
