This family session was the stuff that photographer dreams are MADE of! The lovely Brinkerhoff family came dressed perfectly in complimentary (not matching!!) outfits. The sunlight during golden hour was super creamy and dreamy. And every single member of this family could’ve been a model. Seriously! When I finally got to see the whole ensemble put together when they showed up for their Brackenridge Park family session, I almost burst out into happy tears!
Not only were they impeccably dressed and gorgeous, they were also incredibly kind. I never heard a single rude or demeaning word uttered during the entire session. Which is saying something during a family session with teenagers! But no, guys, this family was seriously one of the sweetest!
Brackenridge Park is one of my favorite photography locations in San Antonio because of all the gorgeous backgrounds right next to one another. You’d never think that all of these backdrops are within 20 feet of each other, but they totally are! If you want a natural, clean vibe for your family photos, this is my go-to recommendation. We made good use of all of those backgrounds. I always make sure to grab a few different backgrounds with each grouping: whole family together, each member of the family individually, just the kids together, just mom and the girls, dad and the girls, dad and the boy(s), mom and the boy(s).
And of course, the one most parents don’t know to ask for, one of just the parents by them selves! When I ask parents when the last time someone took a photo of just the two of them was, they almost always say something super sad like “our wedding photos” or “I can’t even remember the last time we got one of just the two of us!” So I always make sure to grab that parents’ picture!
The Brinkerhoff’s oldest daughter was about to leave on a mission to Canada (hence the flag pictures!). So we made sure to grab some photos of just her, too! Her siblings were all so supportive. Her brother even ran around in the background of her photos with her flag flying behind him because she asked him to!
Seriously this family and this location were a DREAM! Can we have more Brackenridge Park family session please?!?! Thank you, Brinkerhoff family for such a wonderful family session experience! I can’t wait to get y’all back in front of my camera 🙂
