I am a HUGE supporter of doing a bridal session! Coming from someone who doesn’t love pictures of herself, that’s a big deal! )Don’t know what a bridal session is or looks like? Check out one of my favorite bridal sessions I’ve ever done here.) No matter where you live, no matter what your wedding looks like, you have the time to do a bridal session!! Let me tell you why it’s important. Here are three reasons I think every bride should do a bridal session!

1) It’s a trial run for your big day!

Bridal sessions are the perfect opportunity to make sure your look is exactly how you want it for your wedding day. You get to try out your hairstyle, floral bouquet, makeup, and veil! Lots of my brides actually tweak what they’re doing once they see how it looks in real life in their bridal photos! Maybe a longer veil, maybe wearing their hair down instead of up. You want to look absolutely perfect on your wedding day, and your bridal session is the perfect trial run!

2) It takes the stress out of the big day!

You get time to get comfortable in your wedding get-up, comfortable in front of the camera, and more comfortable with your photographer! Your photographer is the only person who’s gonna be with you your WHOLE DAY! So you need to kinda like them. And if your dress is actually super itchy or something, it’s better to know BEFORE you’re walking down the aisle. Not during.

3) If you don’t love doing photos on your own, turn it into a first look session and bring your groom along!

This is what Kyle and I did! We knew we wouldn’t have very much time on our wedding day for portraits of just me and him. So we made our bridal session into a first look session! Some of my favorite wedding pictures came from that session! Plus, we got to go into the mountains, which gave us a beautiful background we wouldn’t have had otherwise.
